Privacy Policy

BookAFade is a booking service operated by 2319721 Ontario Inc. o/a BookAFade, a company incorporated in Ontario, Canada. When you book an appointment with a barbershop that uses BookAFade, the shop is the business you're dealing with, and 2319721 Ontario Inc. o/a BookAFade runs the software and handles your information on the shop's behalf.

When you book an appointment, we collect the information you give us so the shop can serve you:

• Your name — so the shop knows who the appointment is for.
• Your phone number — to text you a booking confirmation and a reminder 24 hours before your appointment.
• Your booking details — the service, barber, date, and time you chose.

If you pay through BookAFade, your card details are entered directly into our payment processor (Stripe) and are never stored on our systems. We only see whether a payment succeeded.

We don't sell your information. We share the minimum needed with a small set of service providers that make the booking work:

• Twilio — sends the SMS confirmation and reminder texts. Receives your phone number and message content.
• Stripe — processes payments. Receives your card and payment details directly.
• Supabase — stores your booking information in our database.
• Resend — sends account and booking-related emails to the shop owner. Receives the shop owner's email address and message content.

Some of these providers operate outside Canada, which means your information may be processed in other countries (such as the United States) and is subject to the laws there.

If you create your BookAFade account using "Sign in with Google," Google shares your name, email address and profile picture with us. We use your name and email address to create your account, sign you in, and contact you about your account — nothing else. We do not access your Gmail, contacts, calendar or any other Google data, and we do not sell or share what Google sends us. You can disconnect BookAFade at any time at myaccount.google.com/permissions, and deleting your BookAFade account removes this information from our systems.

When you book, you agree to receive booking confirmations and reminders by text from the shop. These are tied to your appointment — they're not marketing.

You can stop them at any time by replying STOP to any text. You'll get one final message confirming you've opted out, and we won't text you again.

You can ask us to delete the personal information we hold about you. Email troy@bookafade.com and we'll handle it. Note that some records tied to completed payments may need to be kept to meet legal and accounting obligations.

We keep your booking information for as long as the shop needs it to serve you and to keep accurate business records. Payment and tax-related records are kept as long as Canadian law requires. When information is no longer needed, we delete it.

Under PIPEDA, you have the right to know what personal information we hold about you, to ask for a copy, and to ask us to correct it. To make a request, contact us using the details below.
